Minutes Civil Service 5 2 08CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Date: Friday, May 2, 2008 Time: 11:00 a.m. Place of Meeting: City Hall -Conference Room A Present: Chairperson Merle Duehr, Commissioners Loras Kluesner and Otto Krueger Also Present: Personnel Manager Randy Peck, Information Services Manager Chris Kohlmann 1. Approve Minutes of March 14 and April 10, 2008 Motion by Krueger to approve the minutes of March 14 and April 10, 2008 as presented. Seconded by Kluesner. Motion carried 3-0. 2. Establish Passing Point and Certify List for the Position of Truck Driver Motion by Kluesner to receive and file the communication and that the passing point for the position of Truck Driver be 69 and above correct answers (74%). Seconded by Krueger. Motion carried 3-0. Motion by Krueger to certify the list as read. Seconded by Kluesner. Motion carried 3-0. 3. Establish Passing Point and Certify List for the Position of traffic Signal Technician II Motion by Kluesner to receive and file the communication and that the passing point for the position of Traffic Signal Technician II be 45 and above correct answers (52.9%). Seconded by Krueger. Motion carried 3-0. Motion by Kluesner to certify the list as read. Seconded by Krueger. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Schedule Entrance Examination for Position of Law Enforcement User Support Specialist Kluesner moved to receive and file the communication and to schedule an entry examination for the position of Law Enforcement User Support Specialist, that the exam be open to current City employees and the general public, that the request for examination deadline be 5:00 p.m. on May 16, 2008, and returned examinations must be postmarked by midnight on June 5, 2008. He further moved that the examination be a take-home test and that the list be good for two years. Seconded by Kureger. Motion passed 3-0. 5. Schedule Entrance Examination for Position of Information Technology Specialist Motion by Krueger to receive and file the communication and to schedule an entrance examination for the position of Information Technology Specialist for Monday, June 9, 2008 with an application deadline to be determined by the Personnel Manager. He further moved that the examination be open to all City employees and the general public and the list be good for two years. Seconded by Kluesner. Motion carried 3-0.
