The Commission has reviewed the proposed marina. By a vote of 6 to 0, the Historic Preservation Commission supports the Riverside Marina project noting that the project will not have an adverse impact on historic structures, but requests that the Commission be consulted in the initial schematic designs of the buildings. L.EOPOLD, DIRECTOR o ~ ~od~ ~ o~T _~ ~ ~D The City of Dubuque in participation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources proposes to construct a marina in Section 30 T89N R3E Dubuque County, Iowa. A conceptual footprint of the proposed site is shown in Figure 1. Ail marina construction will be oonflned to the levy side of the Mississippi River. Construction will include a maximum of 92 boat slips with docks, navigational aides, boat pump-out system, bath and laundry facility and dredging of the river bottom. This area has been dredged historically and the City of Dubuque currently holds a U.S. Army Corps of Engineer permit for maintenance dredging purposes. The project will receive Federal Boating Infrastructure Grant money. The DNR, in accordance with 36 CFR Part 800.3(fx2) is requesting your input as an interested party to assure marina activities will not have an "adverse affect" on cultural resources. As an interested party the DNR, at request, will provide you site location information and communicate findings and recommendations if sites are located during construction. The DNR will assume you have no interest in the project if comments are not received by November 3, 2008.
