The Dubuque City Council met in special session at 6:00 p.m. on January 30, 2017 in
the Historic Federal Building, 350 W. 6th Street.
Present: Mayor Buol; Council Members Connors, Del Toro, Jones, Lynch, Resnick,
Rios; City Manager Van Milligen, City Attorney Brumwell
Mayor Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council called
for the purpose of conducting a work session on Sustainable Dubuque.

Quarterly Report Work Session
Sustainable Dubuque Coordinator Cori Burbach, Sustainable Dubuque Community
Grant Recipient Allison Mitchell, Human Rights Director Kelly Larson, Arts and Cultural
Affairs Coordinator Debra Alleyne, Dubuque Community School District Director of
Student Services Shirley Horstman conducted the work session. The three main topics
included:

• Residents use at Comiskey Park and Sutton Pool.
• Qualitative data
Integrating Equity into City Grant Programs
• Technical assistance
• Foundations

• Peer learning
• Equity tools

Presenters answered questions from the City Council.
There being no further business, upon motion the City Council adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
