Box 3150 Cedar Rapids, IA 52406-3150 December 30, 2002 Ref: NHS-20-9(121)--19-31 Dubuque County PIN 90-31050-1 (Letter sent to those on attached list) Per section 306.19(5) of the Iowa Code, the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) is providing this notice that the IDOT intends to renew and extend corridor preservation along U.S. 20 from the Peosta Interchange easterly to hear the intersection with the Northwest Arterial in Dubuque, Iowa. Corridor preservation width varies depending upon location within the corridor. Please be advised that each city and county is required to notify the IDOT in writing of a receipt of an application for building permit for construction valued at $25,000 or more, of the submission of a subdivision plat, or prior to a zoning change. Written notification shall include all pertinent information regarding the proposed permit, plat, or zoning change. Section 3206.19(5) also states that if the IDOT, within the 30-day period, notifies the city or county in writing that the Department is proceeding to acquire all or part of the property or property rights affecting the area, the city or county shall not issue the building permit, approve the subdivision plat, or change the zoning. The IDOT will begin the process of acquiring property or property rights from the affected persons within ten days of the IDOT's written notification of intent to the city or county. The Corridor Preservation Notice will be effective on the day of publication in the local newspapers, which is anticipated to be Tuesday, January 7, 2003.
