7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Cathedral Historic District. StyleNear: assume this is a complete
replacement building of recent date, and that most of this information refers to an earlier house that
dated to c.1855 (Assessor), new two-story gable front house.
Physical Description: Shingle gable front and brick veneer exterior. Front section 40x14 with side porch
(3x22), middle section 20x14'6", single story frame rear wing, 16x10'6".
Alterations: Permits note re-roofing in 1965, repair of fire damage to wall 1943 ($200), alterations 1945,
concrete block garage 1949, re-siding 1963, alterations 1977, two-story 24x26 building 1984 ($69,928).
Assessor notes aluminum siding 1963, remodeling 1970. Reports concrete block garage 23x20 on
property.
Landscaping/Setting: level parcel.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Building History: replaced frame 1865 house. Resided 1949, $1,500, single-family residence. Re-
sided 1963 for $1,480, two-family residence. Office building (two stories, 24x26) built 1884 for $69,928.
Four three-room apartments as of 1955. J. B. Willis buys 1946 and converts into apartments.
