Narrative Description: This property is located in the Cathedral Historic District. Style/Year: 1915, 1959, two-story Chris Voelker concrete block Colonial Revival? front gable house. Designer/Builder: Chris Voelker Physical Description: the 1915 concrete block building is the south half (39x18, front porch 6x18, rear porch same). Two-story flat roof addition to north dates to 1959, is of concrete block construction, measures 40x19. Aluminum siding covers front of historical building, other walls of that building remain exposed. Alterations: Turned into a duplex, resided with aluminum siding, windows completely altered, permastone base on front, no integrity. Permits note re-roofings in 1932, 1958, 1994-95, concrete block garage 1948, concrete block side addition 1959 ($10,000), re-siding 1958. Landscaping/Setting: broad level parcel, open on both sides, recessed, fronts westward. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Original Owner/Builder: Raymond and Helen Pfohl owned the south half the present property as of 1955, acquired the north property in 1958 and built the addition, demolishing an earlier building. Building History: permit for multi-family residence, 1959, $10,000. Concrete block garage, 1948, $98. Re-sided 1969 for $540 (“Locksmith”). Mary Dnohue, Thomas C. Rafferty, and Frank Rafferty owned the property when the street was sewered August 30, 1958 (newest service). Assessor card notes demolition of old building on north part of lot, notes October 22, 1959 “two story concrete block addition to side of original building-50% complete.” Was 60% done by December 7, 1959, and complete by December 22, 1960. 9.
