7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. StyleNear: c.1905-06, Shingle, broad
eaves extension particularly on ends, twin hip roof dormers with battered corner walls, these are set
above twin window pavilions, and three sided centered bay contains front staircase. Paired round
tapered columns set on shingled piers support the porch.
Physical Description: Two-story side gable rectangular plan (30x32 with 7x20 offset rear wing), L-
shaped rear porch (13x24), with offset hip roof front porch and porte cochere (12x13), shingle exterior,
stone foundation.
Alterations: Permits note re-roofings in 1949, 1996, general repairs to stucco building in 1938 ($180),
and 1941, garage repairs in 1943, replacement of porch and carport soffits (soffits only?) in 1984
($2,000), and rebuilding the wooden steps in 1999.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: Courtland L. and Rose Butler were the first listed residents (204 Alpine) in
1906. He was a draftsman for the Adams Co.
Building History: Joseph Kabot house, 1911-21. The sewer tap dates to May 9, 1905. Luke A. and
Barbara Faber purchased the house in 1938 and owned it post-1971.
