7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. Style/Year: 1918-20, Dutch Colonial Revival
style.
Physical Description: Rectangular plan (29x30 with 9x12 corner recessed rear porch) with gambrel roof,
near full-length wall dormers front and rear, full-width narrow front porch (8x30) projects from plan,
aluminum siding, 4x16 bay to east. Stone foundation.
Alterations: Porch enclosed with casement windows, re-sided, windows likely replaced.
Landscaping/Setting: Drive to east of house, garage at east center.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: Katherine Rooney, widow of Martin A. Rooney was the first listed resident,
1921. He had worked as a machinist for the CM & St. Paul Railroad. The family previously lived on
Couler Ave.
Building History: Katie Rooney here 1921, no 1918 listing. No sewer data found.
