7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. Style/Year: c.1920, foursquare type
Physical Description: two-story square plan (30x26) with front dormer, full-width gable roof front porch
(7’6”x23) with dark brick (Craftsman style decorative inserts) base and piers, narrow clapboard exterior,
beltcourse separates the floor levels, brackets on porch front, stone foundation. Rear porch offset with
basement (13x18). Concrete foundation.
Alterations: Asphalt shingles on front dormer. Permits note re-roofings in 1942, 1992, rear deck 1992.
Landscaping/Setting: Moderate terrace setting.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: William and Myrtle Walch were the first listed residents, 1921. He was a
salesman for Linus A. Walch, Universal Car and Tractor Co.
Building History: house 1918-21. The Edward Langworthy Estate owned the parcel when it was
sewered, the tap dates to c.1920.
