Schulte House Dubuque Name of Property County 1088 Melrose Terrace Dubuque Address City 7. Narrative Description: This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. Style/Year: 1919-20, Colonial Revival, rounded entry hood, overall massing and symmetrical fenestration pattern. Physical Description: Two-story elongated hip roof design with rectangular plan (27x32), concrete foundation, polychromatic brick veneer with rowlock belt courses trace the water table and sill levels on each floor. Fenestration is symmetrical with window sets. There is a two-story ell solarium wing (15x10) on the east end of the plan. Centered rear wing measures 8x17’6” and front porch 4x8. Alterations: Permits note a re-roofing in 1994, foundation and brick addition in 1982 ($18,092). Landscaping/Setting: moderate terraced site with driveway to the west. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Original Owner/Builder: Bernard W. and Anna M. Schulte were the first listed residents 1921. He was an organist. Building History: The Edward Langworthy Estate owned the parcel when it was sewered, the tap dates to July 5, 1921. 9.
