Narrative Description: This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. Style/Year: c.1919-20, Colonial Revival and cubic gable front type Physical Description: Two-story gable front square plan (32x25) with gable roof side dormers, a pedimented front gable with Pavillion window, a ground floor cantilevered oriole (1x8), and a gable roof entry porch. The lower level has corner boards and there is a wood water table. A wood belt course separates the floor levels. The eaves are broadly extended and there is an exterior chimney (dark brick) on the east side wall. The entry has half-sized sidelights. The porch Ionic columns might be a later alteration. Concrete foundation. Alterations: Permits note re-roofings in 1944, 1964, repairs in 1961, porch repair in 1963, rear porch added in 1972. Assessor notes garage torn down 1958. Landscaping/Setting: Uneven site with higher ground towards the west side. Southward orientation of house. Shed in northeast corner. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Original Owner/Builder: Henry Bennet and Margaret Lavery were the first residents here 1921, no 1918 listing. He owned a clothing store at 559 Main. Building History: The Edward Langworthy Estate owned the parcel when it was sewered, the tap dates to August 19, 1915. 9.
