7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. Style/Year: c.1915, Craftsman style,
embodied in upper window sash, exposed and decorative rafter tails, and the bellcast roof form.
Physical Description: Two-story square side gable plan (28x26) with broadly projecting eaves, a west
end full-height solarium wing (14x10), an offset three-sided bay (2x14) with gable roof cap, and a
partial-width hip roof porch. The exterior is clad with narrow clapboard. The porch foundation is of
rusticated ashlar stone construction. Assessor gives foundation as brick, has stucco covering. There is
a wooden water table and a wood belt course separates the floor levels. Narrower wood beltcourses
trace the sill levels on each floor. Rear single-story wing measures 7x15’6”.

Landscaping/Setting: Level site with north facing house, driveway to east of the house.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: Joseph P. and Ida Even were the first listed residents here 1918-21. He
worked for the Even Uhlrich Coal Co.
Building History: The Edward Langworthy Estate owned the parcel when it was sewered. Joseph and
Martha Dullivan, owners as of 1955, give age of 1901 (50 years) which surprises Assessor.
