7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District. StyleNear: 1920, defies classification,
purely eclectic amalgam.
Physical Description: Right half of plan is a two-story cube form (30x26, left side wing 28x22) with
centered hip roof dormer, but plan is other-wise a rectangular footprint and the left half of the fayade is
infilled with an oriental pagoda-like bay (5x22) set atop a wrap-around porch. The entrance (4x12) is
centered and there is a three-sided bay set above it on the second floor. A rounded arch on the porch
front hints at the Tudor, as do triple-window sets with casement infills and transoms. The exterior has a
polychromatic brick veneer. The eaves are broad and there is a tile roof. A rear corner single-story
brick addition measures 18x22. Concrete foundation.
Alterations: Permits note rear porch enlargement in 1944, gutter repair in 1967, garage roof repair in
1967.
Landscaping/Setting: level site with north-facing house, driveway to the west of the house and garage
in the southwest rear corner.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Special Significance; built by a Langworthy family member
