7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Langworthy Historic District StyleNear: c.1919-20, foursquare type.
Physical Description: broad two-story square plan (32x28) with hip roof and two-story solarium east
centered wing (21x11), front gabled dormer with decorative fascia, offset gable roof front porch
(5'6"x10) with brick columns and porch walls, brick veneer cladding below the ground level sill level
(stone or concrete beltcourse), stucco exterior above that point
Alterations: Permits note re-roofings in 1948 (sun porch), 1949, 1978, 1999, adding a 17x14 addition
and deck 1987 ($10,500).
Landscaping/Setting: Original two-track concrete drive to west of house, garage in northwest rear
corner, level lot, house has southern orientation. Garage centered north of house, drive to the west
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: Daniel W. and Bertha Hartman were the first listed residents in1921, he was
the proprietor of Hartman Furniture Co. (744-52 Main).
Building History: no 1918 listing. No sewer data found. James and Norma Renier own 1943-72.
