Narrative Description: This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. StyleNear: 1891-98, Neo Classical style, two-story frame gable front duplex (style embodied in front attic light with diamond light upper sash). Physical Description: rectangular plan (13x24, front, 24x24 rear, stone foundation, paired right side entries, full-width hip roof porch, rear chimney. There is an oriole on the east side stair landing (2x7). Rear single-story wing 12x22. Alterations: plan enlarged to the front after 1909 and this likely marked its duplexing, original house was square and had deeper setback, two-tone asbestos siding. Permits note a re-roofing in 1952, re-siding in 1961. Porch restored with wood posts and balustrade since 1986. Shutters added. Landscaping/Setting: level parcel, fronts south. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Original Owner/Builder: Rev. George F. and Emaline S. Perkins were the listed residents at this address as of 1899. He was pastor for the First Spiritual Church. Building History: Two family dwelling "used as one" 1971. 9.
