7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. StyleNear: c.1889, 1866
(Assessor), single-story vernacular frame L-plan with west wing.
Physical Description: rectangular core (14x28) and wing 14x14, side porch (5x14), rear enclosed porch
(12x7). Raised stone foundation, entrance on side wing, chimney on east roof plane, basement
window on front wing, shed roof porch and entry vestibule. There is an east side basement door.
Alterations: no porch/vestibule as of 1950, aluminum siding obscures most detail. Permits note re-
roofings in 1948, 1972, 1995.
Landscaping/Setting: stone retaining wall, steps to terrace, ground rises to west, south, fronts north.
Drive to the east.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Original Owner/Builder: J. G. Bailey owned the parcel when it was sewered in 1897. Albert C., Charles,
F. W. Mrs. Henrietta and William Lantzky lived here in 1890 (153 Arlington). Charles A. Lantzky
(secretary for Large and Amsden Co.) and Mrs. Henrietta Lantzky (widow of Louis) were here in 1896-
99.
