Narrative Description: This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. Style/Year: 1910/1912 Assessor, Craftsman style (massing, stucco, window sets), and Colonial Revival (4/4, 9/9, 8/8 window sash, rounded dormer) Physical Description: two-story combination brick (first floor) and stuccoed frame square plan (32x32 core with inset southeast corner porch, 8x15) with hip or pyramid roof, rusticated stone foundation, recessed southeast corner porch, interesting south wall chimney with angled base, paired windows at the shoulders. Is possibly a reused earlier building or remnant, Sanborn notes brick first story. Single- story offset rear porch with exit, hip roof. Rear wing measures 12x15. Alterations: well preserved. Permits note re-roofings in 1987, 1996, erection of closed porch 1938. Landscaping/Setting: ground rises to the west, fronts south. Slight front terrace. Level backyard to stone retaining wall along Highland Street. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Original Owner/Builder: Richard Kolck, Jr. built a $4,000 residence in 1910 (ibid., October 2, 1910; January 1, 1911). Fred A.Weigle owned the parcel when it was sewered (no date) and when it was platted (1897). He was one of four platters of the Grove Terrace Subdivision. The sewer tap dates to October 3, 1910 which appears to date the house construction. Building History: Richard Kolck III owned house as of 1971. 9.
