7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. Style/Year: post-1889, pre-
1899/1886 (Assessor), Italianate style (?) square plan brick duplex (narrow elongated windows,
possible removed brackets).
Physical Description: two-story square (34x34), with pyramid roof on raised stone foundation, latter
continues upward on second floor and forms north end of that level, symmetrical fenestration, paired
north second floor entries with double brick rowlock course window aches. Single-story rear shed roof
entry porch centered on plan (4’6”x20). Side wing 24x7.
Alterations: windows replaced, eaves covered and brackets likely removed, possibly re-fronted to
Jefferson and entrances shifted to upper floor, concrete stoop. Permits note concrete garage in back
1966, hip roof installed 1983 ($2,000). Assessor notes “now 1 Family” 1973.
Landscaping/Setting: placed into steep terrace on south side of street, fronts north presently.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Building History: might have originally fronted south to Wilbur and was then re-fronted as is at present.
Assessor splits property 1971.
J. J. Nagle, Stewart and Splan owned the parcel when it was sewered c.1894. Tap dates to August 16,
1915.
