7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. Style/Year: pre-1889/1881
(Assessor), two-story brick broad square plan vernacular gable front duplex.
Physical Description: finial on roof front, twin spaced attic lights with wrap-around double rowlock brick
window arches (from the spring stone basis), faux stone lintels fashioned from projecting double
rowlock courses with raised ends and rounded centers, unusual thick stone sills, symmetrical
fenestration, paired and centered entries with picture windows flanking same, full-width hip roof, deep
with large brick pillars (polychromatic brick) and brick balustrades, centered concrete steps, back of
plan has gable roof and recessed sides but no porch infilling. Two-story rear brick gable roof wing.
Trim painted green and beige. Rectangular plan (40x30 with 1x14 rear side recesses), porch measures
10x30.
Alterations: porch, at least the brick components post-1920. Permits note a re-roofing in 1937 (675),
frame shed 1962 (673).
Landscaping/Setting: terrace setting, central walk, fronts south.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Building History: Assessor splits property as of 1971. T. F. O’Connor owned the parcel when it was
sewered c.1894. Tap dates to August 23, 1915.
First directory listings, are Mrs. Jean Sullivan, 673/119 in 1918, and Thos. F. O’Connor, 119 Jefferson
in 1896, and 121 Jefferson in 1899, who ran a meat market.
