7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the West Eleventh Street Historic District. Style/Year: c.1909-10, pre-1909,
Queen Anne frame hip roof cottage with gable roof front side wing, bay.
Physical Description: rectangular or square plan, south facing shed roof through cornice dormer, high
raised stone foundation exposed towards south, hip roof porch inset in northeast corner. Original
narrow clapboard exterior, wood water table. Single-story rear porch.
Landscaping/Setting: on sloped parcel north of alley, fronts east.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Building History: First directory listing places Rheinhart B. and Anna E. Kreis, painter for W. E. Fox, at
73 Spruce in 1911. His wife was here in 1913. The number is not listed in 1909.
