7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Jackson Park Historic District. Style/Year: post-1884, 1886 (Assessor)
pre-1891, Second Empire style tri-plex (single plane mansard attic front), mansard and bracketed
cornice. Unusual given lack of façade bays, etc. apart from porches.
Physical Description: Two story brick tri-plex with rectangular plan with uninterrupted straight façade,
mansard attic front divided evenly into three bays by bracketed pilasters, double gable roof dormers
with open truss decorative screens, raised basement (brick front), double rowlock brick window arches
with raised brick outlines (these and the arches wrap around the window tops and join with twin parallel
belt courses on the spring stone base level of each floor, stone belt courses form a unified sill level on
each level, two entries are grouped off center left and the third as on the right outer edge. These are
on the second floor level and are reached by open stairways. Rear light well between northern wings.
Plan has 52’ frontage, 43’ depth, south two-thirds has a centered rear wing inset from south, 24x24,
north portion has light well and wing 14x14, aligned to north side wall. The latter has a 10x8 enclosed
front porch that links it to a frame carport 14x18.
Alterations: hip roof porches replaced with one metal canopy (right entry) or not replaced, stairs
replaced, windows replaced. Permits note replacement of two outside stairs 1949, alterations to main
dwelling 1970 ($17,500), replacement of porch decks 1985, alterations to interior of masonry and frame
dwelling 1986 ($2,000), remodeling of upper floors, outside steps 1987 ($6,000),(following all 1037)
new open porch at rear, install stone trim front 1963, repair rear porch (re-side) and re-roof dormers
1985.
Landscaping/Setting: level parcel, building fronts east.

Building History: William Bradley and J. H. Lull owned the parcel when it was sewered.
