7. Narrative Description:
This property is located in the Jackson Park Historic District StyleNear: pre-1884 (east half), pre-1891
(west half), two-story vernacular brick side gable duplex.
Physical Description: broad rectangular plan, raised stone foundation with water table on the fayade
only, elongated narrow windows, symmetrical fenestration, oversized stone lintels with raised flat
pediments and separate square keystones, paired center entrances, double rowlock brick window
arches on the side wall.
Alterations: metal canopy replaces short centered porch, two chimneys, corbelled out from the east
side wall have been capped off at the eaves level, one east window reduced. Permits note re-roofing in
1946, 1984, soffit and fascia repair 1989.
Landscaping/Setting: fronts south.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Building History: demo permits for 35-37 West 15th, no date. Anton Luger owned the parcel when it
was sewered.
