Architectural Style And Key Stylistic Elements:
Italianate style parapet front two-story brick side gable plan with center hall, hip roof entry porch,
symmetrical fenestration, straight stone lintels
Physical Description:
32x40 core, stone foundation, full water table, French Provincial style porch, two-story brick rear wing,
American Bond brickwork, rear basement garage
Alterations:
1889 panoramic indicates a widow’s walk and a hip roof capped the building at that time, now has flat
roof and parapet walls.

Landscaping Notes:
Corner lot, land drops sharply to south, drive to south, open yard to the east, fronts north
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
Evaluation:
House surveyed by Kriviskey in 1979, rated “2” as a “good example of a relatively uncommon type”
highly visible. He termed it Federal Style and estimated it to date to c.1855.
Historical Notes:
Richard Scott (Steward & Scott) on this corner 1873.
Ephraim Ratcliff on this corner 1873 (Osbourne, Richmond & Co.) as 120 Fenelon in 1875.
Teacher William Beach lives second house east of Summit, 1873.
E. M. Robinson (salesman) and Wm. H. Robinson (boots & shoes) are in first house east.
W. H. Robinson, Fenelon and Summit, makes improvements worth $150 (Herald, December 2, 1876)

National Bank as of 1877, was a capitalist as of 1880, boarded se corner Summit & Fulton.
Smock makes improvements, 1878, $500 (Herald, January 3, 1879; Times, December 11, 1878).
Mrs. Gus Smock owns when sewered 1891.
