Vernacular two-story frame hip roof plan with gable roof front dormer, balcony atop porch and centered
upper level door to balcony, Crafts-man style gable front dormer on south side
Physical Description:
28x30 core, 5x30 porch, east side dormer, Craftsman style front porch, walkout basement
Alterations:
Craftsman style dormer added, possibly re-fenestrated, sided, aluminum siding, walkout to south and
deck, rear wing post-1909
Building Permit Cards:
1968 - construct balcony - reside Single Family frame dwelling-$400-owner: Thomas Nelson.

Stone wall in front, on shelf, depressed yard, stone steps, fronts south.

J. J. Nagle buys Phillips homestead, West 3rd, 1901 (Telegraph-Herald, April 27, 1901).
199 West 3rd-Patrick F. Flanagan, improvements and new house, $1,200, also described as "House on
hill, 22x36, two story frame (Times, December 11, 1878; Herald, April 6, 1878) and brick house, $2,500
(Herald, January 1, 1880).
Assessor dates to 1880 but directory research doesn't support early date.
