7. Narrative Description:
This one and one-half story gable roof brick residence is rectangular in shape (22' x 42' plus front
porch) with front gable entrance. If features segmental arched windows with stone sills and simple
stone (artificial stone?) hoods. The front entry originally featured a transom and sidelights, but these
have filled in. The structure rests on a stone foundation. Both the front and rear porches have been
remodeled, but both are similar in size to the originals.
This house is not individually eligible, but is representative of the small front gable brick cottages
found throughout this neighborhood.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
The 1880 construction date is approximate, but appears to be correct. This is the period when
the Eagle Point neighborhood started building up from Couler east toward the point.
