Dear Mayor and CitY Council Members:
The City of Dubuque Zoning Advisory Commission has reviewed the above-cited
request. The application, staff report and related materials are attached for your review:
Discussion
The applicant spoke in favor of the request, noting that the plat subdivides the existing
parcel into three (3) parcels in the county. Staff reviewed that the plat complies with the
City of Dubuque Subdivision Regulations, with the exception of Design and
Improvement Standards that apply to lots within the city limits.
The Zoning Advisory Commission discussed the request, noting that the subdivision will
not prevent the orderly development of adjacent property.
Recommendation
By a vote of 6 to 0, the Zoning Advisory Commission recommends that the City Council
approve the request, with the waiver of Design and improvement Standards, except for
Section 19, Lots and Blocks.
A simple majority vote is needed for the City Council to approve the request.

RESOLUTION NO. ] 40 -01
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FINAL PLAT OF CARROLL SUBDIVISION IN
DUBUQUE COUNTY, IOWA
Whereas, there has been filed with the City Clerk a final plat of Carroll Subdivision in
Dubuque County, Iowa; and
Whereas, said plat has been examined by the Zoning Advisory Commission and had its
approval endorsed thereon; and
Whereas, said plat has been examined by the City Council and they find that it
conforms to the statutes and ordinances relating thereto.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the final plat of Carroll Subdivision is hereby apprOved and the
Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to endorse the approval of the City
of Dubuque, Iowa upon said plat.
Section 2. That the City Council hereby waives Article IV, Design and Improvement
Standards of the Subdivision Regulations, except Section 42-19, Lots and Blocks.

Final Plat - Carroll Subdivision in Dubuque County, Iowa
INTRODUCTION
The submitted final plat of Carroll Subdivision in Dubuque County, Iowa subdMdes an
existing parcel of land into three lots. The three lots are to be divided among the three
heirs of the Carole Carroll estate.
DISCUSSTON
The submitted final plat is located within Dubuque County and within two miles of the
city of Dubuque. The plat is considered a minor final plat as it creates three new lots.
The three lots created all have sufficient lot area and lot frontage on .~ohn F. Kennedy
Road. The plat in all other respects complies with City of Dubuque Subdivision
Regulations.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Zoning Advisory Commission approve the final plat of Carroll
Subdivision subject to waiving Article IV, Design and Improvement Standards, except
for Section 42-19, Blocks and Lots.
