Establishing Sewer Rates DATE: February 26, 2018 INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this memorandum is to submit to you a copy of the proposed ordinance changes and a recommendation that ordinance changes anticipated for FY2019 take effect on July 1 , 2018. DISCUSSION: In our budget request for FY2019 we are requesting a 3% sewer rate increase. The effect of the amendment changes, based upon the 3% increase, is on the attached page. The ordinance changes would revise Section 13-2C-3(B) and Section 13-2C- 3(C)(7) of the Code of Ordinances increasing basic wastewater charges for residential, commercial and minor industrial users from $4.89 to $5.04 per ccf, rate per each gallon from $ .00654 to $ .00674. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that you approve the proposed ordinance changes and submit them to the City Council for approval at their February 28, 2018 budget hearing.
