Narrative Description: This two story gable roof rectangular house with front gable entry measures 24' x 34'. The front entry originally had a transom and sidelights which have been covered, and the first floor windows have been replaced by shorter modern windows. The second floor and attic windows retain the original double hung sash configuration with simple cast lintels and sills. Two chimneys remain in place. The house rests on a stone foundation with stone watertable. This house is a good example of the front gable type, but is not individually eligible. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: The 1888 date of construction provided by the assessor's records appears to be fairly accurate. This neighborhood was under development at that point, with the Sacred Heart Church across the street completed in the same year. The neighborhood was expanding east from the Couler corridor toward Eagle Point. 9.
