LIMIT MILLER-
RIVERVIEW
PARK CAMPING
tO 14
CONSECUTIVE
DAYS; VOTE
Park Division Manager John Hail is proposing an addition to the Miller-
Riverview Park Campground Policies that would limit a camper's stay to
fourteen consecutive days. At the end of a fourteen day stay the camper(s)
would have to leave for at least a five day period. If the camper(s) return at the
end of the five day period, they would be assigned a different campsite.
Long term campers interfere with an ability to maintain the area around the
campsite and tend to "collect" items such as firewood, tables, chairs and trash
around the campsite. They tend to view the site as their "home" and all the
activities associated with a person's home tend to occur and impact other
campers.
It was moved by Schrobilqen, seconded by Du.q.qan, to revise the Miller-
Riverview Park Camp.qround Policies to state: Camper(s) are limited to a stay
no longer than fourteen (~4) consecu~ve days. At the end of a fourteen day
stay, the camper(s) must leave for at least a five day period. Lf the camper(s)
return at the end of the five day period, they will be assiqned a different
campsite. Motion passed unanimously.
UPDATE ON
RENOVATION OF
BUNKER HILL
S~&CK BAR
Leisure Services Manager Gil Spence brought commissioners up to date on
the renovation: · electrician and plumber are as far as they can go for now; °
roofers were supposed to be finished Friday; · we need to be able to use pro
shop whenever the course is ready to use; · general contractor is not
returning calls and not attending meetings.
Mr. Spence sent a certified letter to general contractor stating his intent to
declare him in default and contractor has fourteen days to set up a meeting
with the City, bonding company and Execucon to see how we can get this
done. The City should be able to hold contractor and bonding company
accountable for lost revenue.
