ROLL CALL: Present: Directors Steven Drahozal, Dave Ruden, Rachel Boeke, Curt
Kiessling, Mike Freiburger, Gerry Hess CCWMA Administrators: Eric Schmechel Dean
Mattoon Absent, Neal Patten, Ryan Peterson, Willie O'Brien
CALL TO ORDER: Kiessling called the meeting to order at 5:03pm
September 5th Meeting Minutes were approved. Motion made by Kiessling, seconded by
Drahozal.
ACTION ITEMS:
Dubuque County Conservation Board sediment strucbxre(638)has been surveyed and designed.
The final cost estimate is $7,366.00. The project was approved. Motion made by Ruden, seconded
by Boeke.
Schxnechel updated the board on some of the streambank failure occurring on the South Fork
project AES brought attention to a few slopes that have failed on the project. After walking the
site with MSA and a few CCWMA directors,motion was made to approve up to $8,500.00 to
repair a few spots on the project that had failed. Motion was made by Drahozal, seconded by
Kiessling. Schxnechel and Mattoon will follow up with contractor(HH Construction).
Creek Wood park would like to do SQR on a new park in TimberHyst Subdivision. The cost
estimate for it appears to be $13,500. Project approved under normal SQR conditions with the
CCWMA.
Dean Boles was approved for SQR on his property, motion was made by Boeke, Seconded by
Hess. Drahozal abstained.
John Frieburger applied for cost-share for a grassed waterway. Schxnechel presented information
on the project provided by NRCS. Motion was made to approve Frieburger waterway for up to
$10,000. Motion was made by Ruden, seconded by Kiessling.
The final MSA invoice for engineering/inspection was approved for $764.86. Motion made by
Kiessling, seconded by Ruden.
Construction invoice for HH for construction related costs and maintenance items that have been
completed was approved. Motion made Ruden, seconded by Kiessling.

ITEMS FROM STAFF:
Schmechel updated the Board on cover crops. No applications were approved as of yet.
The CCWMA would like to use the same methodology for cover crop applications as last
year. Schmechel will have a list of applicants for the November meeting.
CCWMA Board Meeting
May 3 2017
Schmechel and Mattoon updated the board on the NRCS ICP grant award, and the RFP
coordinator position announcement. No applications were received. Schmechel and
Mattoon are going back to the drawing board on how to best hire a future coordinator for
this position, and will update at the neat meeting.
