BACKGROUND In 2013, the City Council approved the Sustainable Dubuque Community Grant program to catalyze community leaders in the Sustainable Dubuque initiative. The grants are available to any residents, non-profits or businesses who propose a project that addresses at least one of the twelve sustainability principles and includes an element of community engagement or education in their project. $25,000 was allocated for grant disbursement in FY2019. Five applications were initially received in this round. All commissioners were invited to submit their individuals scores. Due to staff transitions and email complications, two grant applications were not considered during the initial review. Following the process from above, two additional applications were reviewed. The recommendation of the RCAC, as approved on their December 6, 2018 meeting, follows. DISCUSSION Because of the unusual circumstances, a sub-committee did not meet to discuss the two additional grant applications. We set a threshold of 23 points or higher average to be considered for funding. Applications which did not receive at least 23 points were not considered. Four Mounds scored 29 and the Alternative Learning Center scored 19. The followin a lication is recommended for fundin : Organization Project Amount Four Mounds Winter Farmers Market $1 ,310.00 Total recommended funding for Round 18, Part 2 is $1310. Total funding for Round 18 is now $10,310, including the $9,000 previously approved by the City Council. This leaves $14,690 available for the April 2019 round of funding. REQUESTED ACTION I respectFully recommend City Council approve the recommendations regarding the Round 18 Part 2 funding of the Sustainable Dubuque Community Grant program.
