RE: Revision to City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances Title 13, Sections 13 -2C -
3(B) and 13 -2C -3(C)(7). Establishing Sewer Rates
DATE: March 6, 2019
INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to submit to you a copy of the proposed ordinance
changes and a recommendation that ordinance changes anticipated for FY2020 take
effect on July 1, 2019.
DISCUSSION:
In our budget request for FY2020 we are requesting a 4.5% sewer rate increase. The
effect of the amendment changes, based upon the 4.5% increase, is on the attached
page. The ordinance changes would revise Section 13 -2C -3(B) and Section 13 -2C -
3(C)(7) of the Code of Ordinances increasing basic wastewater charges for residential,
commercial and minor industrial users from $5.04 to $5.27 per ccf, rate per each gallon
from $ .00674 to $ .00704.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that you approve the proposed ordinance changes and submit them to the
City Council for approval at their March 7, 2019 budget hearing.
