Establishing Sewer Rates DATE: March 6, 2019 INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this memorandum is to submit to you a copy of the proposed ordinance changes and a recommendation that ordinance changes anticipated for FY2020 take effect on July 1, 2019. DISCUSSION: In our budget request for FY2020 we are requesting a 4.5% sewer rate increase. The effect of the amendment changes, based upon the 4.5% increase, is on the attached page. The ordinance changes would revise Section 13 -2C -3(B) and Section 13 -2C - 3(C)(7) of the Code of Ordinances increasing basic wastewater charges for residential, commercial and minor industrial users from $5.04 to $5.27 per ccf, rate per each gallon from $ .00674 to $ .00704. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that you approve the proposed ordinance changes and submit them to the City Council for approval at their March 7, 2019 budget hearing. Section 13 -2C -3(B) of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances is amended to read as follows: B. Section 13 -2C -3(C)(7) of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances is amended to read as follows: 7.
