Discuss and Respond to Bias Incident
On Monday, April 22, 2019, the Police Department received a call reporting multiple offensive
graffiti which included some racist expressions that was painted on rock at Eagle Point Park.
Commissioners felt it was important that they stay consistent with their response, and to let the
community know these things are still happening and let the perpetrators know that we are actively
seeking information as to who is responsible and the legal consequences. It was suggested that
they reach out to other groups and individuals to push for unified alliance.
Discussion ensued on methods of responding to the incident. Commissioner Schiesl moved to
proceed with drafting an Op-ed response to the bias incident that happened on April 22, 2019.
