Minutes Five Fl. Civic C 4 16 0Five Flags Commission Meeting April 16, 2001 PRESENT: Mike Brannon, Cynthia Fuller. Steve Sesterhenn ABSENT: Rod Bakke, Gary Dolphin STAFF PRESENT: Jamie Blum, Jodi Lukens, Gil Spence The Five Flags Commission meeting convened at 4:33 p.m. in the Manager's office at Five Flags Center. Chairperson Mike Brannon presided. Minutes of March 19, 2001 meeting were approved. There were no additions or deletions to the agenda. Gil Spence told the Commission members that the interview committee for the Civic Center Manager's position has completed their five interviews. They will meet on Friday, April 20th to discuss and make a decision on a candidate to recommend to the City Manager later that afternoon. Gil said that all the five candidates interviewed very well. The Commission members had some questions for Gil and he answered all questions to their satisfaction. During information sharing Acting Manager Jamie Blum stated that the Dubuque Fighting Saints are in the process of moving out of the building. They have totally moved everything out of the Saints office and will be completely moved out by the end of Apdl. Gil Spence and Jamie Blum are waiting to hear from the new hockey team, The Thunderbirds, regarding their contract. They are in the process of negotiating a game fee. Once that is established we will draft a contract and move forward with that. Cindy Fuller said that she has had a couple of phone calls regarding the trophy's from the old Saints organization that have been removed from the trophy case. Gil Spence said that he would contact Ted Scherr and Mike Brannon will contact Darin Harmon to see if they can get any information regarding this matter. Aisc during information sharing, Jamie mentioned that this upcoming week will be a busy one with City Expo on Tuesday, the Spirit Luncheon on Wednesday, Collin Raye on Thursday, Lode Line on Friday and the John Deere Banquet on Saturday. Next week we have the East Dubuque Prom and the Heartland Ballet in the theater. After the ballet is finished the theater will be closed and renovation starts May 1~t, Jamie also informed Steve Sesterhenn and Mike Brannon that their commission membership wes up for renewal on June 29th and gave them both applications to fill out and return to the City Clerks office. Jamie also stated that Rod Bakke was also up and an application would be sent to him with a copy of the minutes.
