From the Meeting January 27, 2022
Present: Rosemary Kramer, Secretary; and Trustees, Robert Armstrong, Victor
Lieberman, Christy Monk, and Patty Poggemiller
Present virtually: Pam Mullin, President
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• At the end of December, expenditures were at 46% and revenue was at 72% of
projections.
• Carnegie -Stout Public Library saw increases in library visitors (+19%) and
computer use (+13%) over December 2020.
• Circulation over previous December was down 12%. For the third consecutive
month, a significant drop in DVD & Blu-ray movies.
• 142 Curbside visits in December.
• 2022 Great Reading Challenge Book Club for Adults has begun.
• Successful collaboration between James Kennedy Public Library in Dyersville,
the Dubuque County Library District, and the Carnegie -Stout Public Library
happened in January celebrating JanFanCon (January Fandom Convention)
including an all -ages Comic drawing contest, virtual programs, and more.
• February Art @ Your Library show features painter Pam Hiatt and mixed media
artist Stephanie Funke.
• Rise in Omicron cases in the county caused the library to shift in -person
programming to virtual, or cancel in situations where programming could not be
adjusted.
