Historic Bluffs Neighborhood Petition for No Parking SignsCity of Dubuque City Council Meeting Consent Items # 18. Copyrighted March 21, 2022 ITEM TITLE: Historic Bluffs Neighborhood Petition for No Parking Signs SUMMARY: Petition submitted by Bill Brown on behalf of residents of the Historic Bluff Neighborhood requesting no parking signs on certain sections of Wilbur Lane. SUGGESTED Suggested Disposition: Receive and File; Refer to City Manager DISPOSITION: ATTACHMENTS: Description Type Historic Bluffs Neighborhood Petition Supporting Documentation March 14, 2022 Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council 1300 Central Avenue Dubuque, IA 52001 Dear Mayor Cavanaugh and Members of the Council: Attached is a petition from some residents of the Historic Bluffs Neighborhood requesting No Parking signs on Wilbur Lane, up from Spruce Street in front of the garages located on the south side of Wilbur Lane. Also, we request a street light at the corner of Wilbur Lane and Spruce Street with a camera installed on the light pole. When traveling up Spruce to turn onto Wilbur, often times there is traffic at the corner making it very difficult for the Spruce vehicle to turn on to Wilbur if there is a vehicle parked in front of the garages. In the winter and road conditions are not good this can be a dangerous situation. There is a No Parking sign on the garage but the police department advises us that city no parking signs are a better way for them to enforce no parking. We would also like to have a street light installed at the corner of Wilbur Lane and Spruce Street along with a camera to monitor activity in the area. We are seeing an increase of questionable activities in the area and think increasing lighting and the camera will help address this matter. Your attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated. sincerely, Bill Brown a3 n ITI C m G N n N C PETITION March 10, 2022 0 D `•n c; r We the undersigned residents of the Historic Bluffs Neighbor request that the City of Dubuq€ instN No Parking signs on Wilbur Lane, up from Spruce Street in front of the garages located on the south side of Wilbur Lane.
