Library Board of Trustees Update
From the Meeting February 24, 2022
Present: Greg Gorton, Vice President; Rosemary Kramer, Secretary; and Trustees,
Robert Armstrong, Victor Lieberman, and Christy Monk
Present virtually: Pam Mullin, President
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• At the end of January, expenditures were at 58% and revenue was at 77% of
projections.
• Carnegie -Stout Public Library saw a slight increase in library visitors (+ less than
1.0%) and a slight decrease in computer use (-2.0%) over January 2021.
• Circulation over previous January was down 14%. For the fourth consecutive
month, a significant drop in DVD & Blu-ray movies.
• 152 Curbside visits in January.
• Over 100 patrons dropped of Christmas tree lights to recycle as part of a
partnership with the City of Dubuque Metropolitan Waste Agency.
• Art @ Your Library held a First Friday event in February featuring a virtual
demonstration by artist Stephanie Funk hosting a Zentangle class. Interest in the
program was enough to inspire several future programs.
• Contract extension for Part-time Marketing Coordinator was approved for another
year.
• Board of Trustees approved the FY23 Budget Presentation to City Council
• Board of Trustees approved the adoption of the City of Dubuque's Personnel
Handbook
