Minutes Civil Service 4 24 01CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Date: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 Time: 6:45 p.m. Place of Meeting: Orpheum Room, Five Flags Civic Center The entrance examination for the position of Utility Worker was conducted in the Ballroom at Five Flags beginning at 6:30 p.m. Chairperson Kluesner called the Civil Service meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. in the Orpheum Room at Five Flags. Present: Chairperson Loras Kluesner, Commissioner Merle Duehr Absent: Commissioner Dick Wertzberger A]so Present: Randy Peck, Dan Brown 1. Approve Minutes of April 3, 2001 and April 6, 2001 Commissioner Duehr moved to approve the minutes of April 3 and April 6, 2001. Seconded by KJuesner, passed unanimously. Establish Passing Point for the Position of Maintenance Worker and Certify List Commissioner Duehr moved to receive and file the communication of Don Vogt, Cindy Stainhauser, Gil Spence, and Randy Peck and further moved to establish the passing point for the position of Maintenance Worker at 66 (74.2%). Seconded by Kluesner, passed unanimously. The passing scores were read and Duehr moved that the list be certified as read. Seconded by Kluesner, passed unanimously. The certified list is: Patrick DeHeck, Randy Vaske, Ray Behnke, Fred Brimeyer, Nicholas Bibb, Jim Powers, Paul Hermann, Terry Leibold, Joe Breson, Randy Ludowitz, Gary Ctauer, and Paul Davis. Request to Schedule Promotional Examinations for the Positions of Fire Equipment Operator, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and Assistant Fire Chief Duehr moved to set promotional examinations for the four Fire Department positions and that the qua]ificafions for the tests be approved as recommended by Fire Chief Dan Brown. Seconded by Kluesner, approved unanimously. Chief Brown stated that UcCann and Associates would be used for the test and that the Fire Equipment Operator and Captain tests could be given at the same time. He also stated that the test for Lieutenant and Assistant Fire Chief could be given together. Discussion followed on the possibility of conducting the tests during the day and it was agreed to. Duehr moved that fl3e promotional test for the positions of Equipment Operator and Captain be conducted on Monday, June 11, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. at a place to be determined (Majestic Room at Five Flags); and that the promotional test for Lieutenant and Assistant Fire Chief be conducted at 9:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2001, at a place to be determined (Majestic Room at Five Flags). Seconded by Ktuesner, unanimously approved. It was also determined that the promotional test for Assistant Fire Marshall, which was scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2001 would be rescheduled for 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 200t in Conference Rooms B and C at City Hall, as only two employees had applied to take the test. There being no further business, Duehr moved to adjourn. Seconded by Kluesner. Unanimously approved and meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m. Approved at meeting of /
