ATTACHMENTS: Description Type Direct Support Professional Recognition Week Supporting Documentation '1"II II cl rY Or DU- E Masterpiece on the Mississippi PITDIMCLAMATION WHEREAS, Direct Support Professionals empower people with disabilities in their community; and WHEREAS, Direct Support Professionals provide a broad range of individualized supports, including health and safety, pursuit of personal goals and independence, access to community engagement and leisure, and the pursuit of individual flourishing and meaning; and WHEREAS, Direct Support Professionals are essential to persons with disabilities to live meaningful and independent lives in their own communities; and WHEREAS, organizations, like Hills & Dales, who support individuals with disabilities are deeply grateful and appreciative of the work that Direct Support Professionals complete daily for a purpose greater than themselves; and WHEREAS, all residents are encouraged to learn about and appreciate the work of Direct Support Professionals. NOW THEREFORE, I, BRAD M. CAVANAGH, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF, AND RESIDENTS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 11 THROUGH 17, 2022 AS "DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION WEEK" IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
