DISCUSSION
01. BUDGET WORK SESSION
The FY23 Airport budget was discussed with anticipated shortfalls reviewed.
Commissioner Kurtz Weber will with work with the Airport Director on the FY23 and
FY24 budgets. A motion was made by Commissioner Brotherton and seconded by
Commissioner Clemenson to end the Budget Work Session. This motion passed
unanimously.
AIRPORT COMMISSION MINUTES
Commissioner Clemenson moved to approve the minutes of the September 13th and
September 27, 2022, meetings. Commissioner Brotherton seconded the motion. This
motion passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
01. REVIEW AIRPORT STATISTICS
The reported statistics were on par with previous years. Sun Country charter flights are
scheduled to return in November.
NEW BUSINESS
ACTION ITEMS
02. AIRBORNE INVESTMENTS, LLC LAND LEASE RESOLUTION
Commissioner Blocker made a motion to accept Resolution No. A1400-1-2022,
Intent to Dispose of an Interest in Real Property by Lease Agreement.
Commissioner Brotherton seconded this motion. The motion passed unanimously.
03. INSTALL SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM RESOLUTION
Commissioner Kurtz Weber made a motion to approve Resolution No. A1500-1-
2022, Preliminary Approval of Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract and
Estimated Cost; Setting Date of Public Hearing on Plans, Specifications, Form of
Contract and Estimated Cost; and Ordering the Advertisement for Bids for Install
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System. Commissioner Brotherton seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
DISCUSSION
04. AIRPORT PROJECTS UPDATE
The Iowa DOT grant funded hangar is currently in the design phase. Negotiations
are going well for the ULCC twice weekly air service to Florida.
05. CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED SINCE SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 MEETING
Several articles mentioning the pending ULCC air service were in the
correspondence.
NEXT COMMISSION MEETING
The next scheduled Commission meeting tentative date is November 29, 2022, at 4:00
p.m.
Commissioner Blocker moved to adjourn the meeting and the motion was seconded by
Commissioner Brotherton. This motion passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:26 p.m.
