Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on December 12t", 2022, to MDE, LLC DBA McDermott Excavating of
Dubuque, Iowa, for the total bid amount of $52,132.00 which is 14.7% under the
engineer's estimate of $61,146.00.
The 8th Street Brick Pavers Remediation Project will provide for the removal and re-
setting of brick pavers in the sidewalk on 8t" Street near the Grand Opera House. The
project will include re -setting existing pavers, so they are flush with adjacent pavement.
Additionally, some damaged decorative pavement will be removed and replaced. ADA
ramps also will be upgraded to current standards in this area.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the 8t" Street Brick Pavers
Remediation Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

The 8th Street Brick Pavers Remediation Project will provide for the removal and re -setting
