SUGGESTED Suggested Disposition: Receive and File DISPOSITION: ATTACHMENTS: Description Type Bridge Cleaning Letter Supporting Documentation PCC Pavement Patching Project Letter Supporting Documentation C 10WADOT GETTING YOU THERE))) December 15, 2022 SUBJECT: Annual Mississippi River Bridge Cleaning Projects Dear City Council: Ref: BRFN-020-9(252)--39-31 BRFN-061-8(150)--39-31 This letter is an official notification to your City Council that the Iowa Department of Transportation intends to let two Bridge Cleaning projects on 1/18/2023. The work consists of removal of foreign material from the bridge substructure, superstructure, and washing with water under pressure. The project limits are: • US 20 Julien Dubuque Bridge over the Mississippi River in Dubuque • US 61 Bridge over the Peosta Channel in Dubuque It is anticipated that the project will be completed in calendar year 2023. The work will be done in accordance with the current Form 810034, "Agreement for Primary Road Extension Maintenance and Operation". Project costs will be paid from the Primary Road Fund and no charges will be made against the city. The contract will be administered by the Manchester Resident Construction Engineer's Office. If the City would like to be notified of the preconstruction meeting schedule, contractor's proposed work schedule, or has any other questions and/or concerns, please contact Hugh Holak, P.E., Resident Construction Engineer of the Manchester RCE Office by calling 563-927-2397, or by email at Hugh.Holak(c)iowadot.us We would appreciate this project notification being included on your next City Council meeting agenda as a matter of information for Council members. The work consists of removal deteriorated pavement and replacement with a Portland Cement Concrete patch. The project limits are: • US 20 from Delaware to Illinois • US 61 from the Dubuque/Jackson County line to Wisconsin • US 151 from IA 13 to US 61 It is anticipated that the project will be completed in calendar year 2023. The work will be done in accordance with the current Form 810034, "Agreement for Primary Road Extension Maintenance and Operation". Project costs will be paid from the Primary Road Fund and no charges will be made against the city. The contract will be administered by the Manchester Resident Construction Engineer's Office.
