This new resource replaces the 1998 Hazardous Materials Command Vehicle and provides the users with upgrades in technology and working space. The vehicle responds to large scale hazardous materials incidents and provides a mobile incident command resource for any large-scale incident across the city and county. DISCUSSION: The Dubuque Fire Department is appreciative of the work from our finance department, vehicle services, and to the department members who were an important part of the specification and coordination of building and placing this new resource in service. Department committee members included Nick Esch, Greg Harris, Jacob Reiff, and Jason Lueken. RECOMMENDATION: The department will have a static display of the new Hazardous Materials Command Vehicle at the next council meeting on February 20, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. outside Historic Federal Building. This will allow members of the community, city, and council to tour the new vehicle and ask questions.
