I J Nilll 1IIII®r 2007-2012*2013 2017*2019 This memorandum requests City Manager approval to move forward with submitting a letter of support for the International City Manager's Association (ICMA) Solar@Scale program. BACKGROUND Assistant City Manager Cori Burbach forwarded a request from ICMA asking Dubuque to support their Solar@Scale program. They are collecting pledges from local governments committing to utilize the program's resources. Other opportunities are included with our support such as access to workshops on large scale solar projects for the region at no -cost. DISCUSSION This aligns with the City's mission and vision and supports the City's 50% by 2030 greenhouse gas reduction goal. The Solar@Scale guidebook and additional resources will be useful to the City of Dubuque's Office of Sustainability. BUDGETIMPACT There is no budget impact. REQUESTED ACTION I respectfully request the City Manager's approval to submit a letter of support to ICMA. The City of Dubuque finds the Solar@Scale guidebook, Solar@Scale training/workshop, and/or Solar@Scale webinar series valuable to the community and its work around large-scale solar development. The City of Dubuque pledges to utilize the resources and knowledge provided through Solar@Scale through the following efforts: • Work with City, County, and state officials to encourage adoption of new approaches to large- scale solar development. • Distributing Solar@Scale resources through outreach and engagement • Encouraging utilization of the Solar@Scale guidebook in to complement our work supporting households with low -incomes in a just transition.
