SUGGESTED DISPOSITION: ATTACHMENTS: Description Type Proclamation Supporting Documentation 'fHE CI'fY pF Du8 E Masferprece on the Misszssrpyz ������������ WHEREAS, Great Give Day is an online giving event that empowers people to come together and raise critical funds for the nonprofits who make the Dubuque region strong; and WHEREAS, the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque's annual Great Give Day will take place on May 17, 2023. Since its inception in 2014, Great Give Day has raised more than $2.7 million to support the local community, benefitting hundreds local nonprofit agencies; and WHEREAS, hosting Great Give Day is one of the many ways the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque strengthens communities and inspires giving. For 20 years, the Community Foundation has worked with individuals, families, nonprofits and businesses to strengthen the community through a variety of charitable funds and strategic initiatives; and WHEREAS, On May 17, 2023, donations can be made from midnight to 11:59 p.m. to 200 local funds in the 7-county region around Dubuque listed on greatgiveday.org. I would like to thank the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque for powering this incredible day. NOW THEREFORE, I, BRAD M. CAVANAGH, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF, AND RESIDENTS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE 17T" OF MAY 2023 AS "GREAT GIVE DAY" IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA AND ENCOURAGE ALL DUBUQUE RESIDENTS TO TAKE PART IN THIS SPECIAL EVENT BY GIVING TO OUR LOCAL NONPROFITS ON GREAT GIVE DAY.
