SUGGESTED Suggested Disposition: Receive and File DISPOSITION: ATTACHMENTS: Description Type City Council Proceedings of 5/1/23 Supporting Documentation Civil Service Commission of 5/3/23 Supporting Documentation Library Board of Trustees Update of 4/27/23 Supporting Documentation Long Range Planning Advisory Commission of 4/19/23 Supporting Documentation Proof of Publication for City Council Proceedings of Supporting Documentation 4/17/23 Carnegie -Stout Public Library Library Board of Trustees Update From the Meeting April 27, 2023 Present: Pam Mullin, President; Andy Bland, Secretary; and Trustees, Robert Armstrong, Victor Lieberman, Christy Monk • The Board approved library expenditures • The Board approved addendum to Library Personnel Manual to match the City of Dubuque Employee Handbook in providing 8.5 weeks of vacation accrual for appropriate full and part-time library staff. • 104 Curbside visits in March • The library saw increases in circulation, visitors, and computer and Wi-Fi usage in March compared to March 2022. • Downloadable digital materials service, Hoopla, continues to see growth every month. Another nearly 100 unique users were added in March. • The Library will be sending out a request for proposal for consultants for space needs assessments for the library, based on direction from the strategic plan. • Staff are preparing for the summer reading program which will launch the first Monday following the end of the school year. • The library participated in the 2023 Days of Caring event. Nine Engineers from John Deere Dubuque Works volunteered their time to help with outdoor spring clean up and spreading some new mulch around the building. • Library staff are preparing a public survey to further evaluate library services and open hours. • Library staff have been busy meeting with various community agencies exploring ways to partner.
