January 9, 2023 The Jule implemented the AM/PM Commuter Route providing transit service to areas including Kerper Boulevard Industrial Park, John Deere Dubuque Works, Dubuque Industrial Center West, and Simmons Pet Food. BACKGROUND The GDDC and John Deere Dubuque Works reached out to The Jule in 2022 regarding early morning transportation needs for employees to get to employment. Locations included Dubuque Industrial Center West, Simmons Pet Food, Kerper Boulevard Industrial Park and John Deere Dubuque Works. GDDC committed to funding the first three months of operations. DISCUSSION As of May 5, 2023 the AM/PM Commuter route has provided 486 rides to get workers to and from multiple businesses including but not limited to Hodge, John Deere, Hormel, Geisler Brothers, Universal Tank, and Simmons Pet Food. Ridership has steadily increased from 20 riders to over 40 riders per week. Jule management is anticipating ridership growth as more businesses and employees are made aware of this service and seasonal workers are hired this summer and fall.
