• Upon a motion by JTigges, seconded by RTigges, minutes of the Nov. 18, 2021,
meeting were approved 3 - 0.
Review of PEG Fund Request
• The purpose of this meeting was to continue the review/consideration of the Dubuque
County Historical Society's (DCHS) request for a PEG Fund grant to purchase
equipment to produce high-quality videos and educational programming from one
stationary location or via a mobile cart anywhere on the National Mississippi River
Museum & Aquarium campus. The application stated "These educational videos will give
the public and underserved populations access to experiences that they might not
otherwise have. The museum has a wide variety of historical, animal, and conservation
experiences that can be shared via videos or live programming with the purchase of this
equipment."
• Chairperson Maloney acknowledged Nathan Smith, a DCHS employee, as a virtual
participant in the meeting and referenced the original PEG Fund application from DCHS
as well as the updated estimates that Smith provided to Gehl and had forwarded to
commissioners before the meeting. Commissioners reviewed the application and
estimates. RTigges asked Smith several questions related to the request including the
need for batteries for lights as well as WiFi and remote power supply for the mobile cart.
Maloney noted that the total of the original request ($16,153) would allow for some
additional necessary items to be added to the requested equipment. RTigges made
motion that the commission recommend for approval the grant request for the amount to
not exceed $16,153. JTigges seconded the motion and it was approved 3-0.
Next Meeting
• Chairperson Maloney reminded others that the commission meets on an as-needed
basis so no date was set for a future meeting.
Adjournment
• Upon a motion by JTigges, seconded by RTigges, and 3-0 vote, the meeting adjourned
at 5:20 p.m.
