Thank you for your letter of April 1, 2002, relating to the expiration dates of the
Dodds River Terminal leases.
Upon review of my records, I concur that the lease originally dated the 31st day of
May, 1958, will carry to the Year 2008 if renewed, and that the October 4, 1968
reconstruction of Lease and Agreement amended the prior 1958 lease from an
expiration date of 2008 to 2018.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused in the time and effort it
took you to review the record and to clarify this issue.
The last paragraph of my February 7, 2002 letter should have indicated that the
Dodds River Terminal leases are set to expire on March 31, 2008 and May 31,
2018. As stated in my letter, the City does not have any plans to extend these
leases passed these two expiration dates.
Should you have any further questions on the termination dates of the Dodds
leases, please let me know.
