Having been on the board for 3 terms and serving as the current chair, I am interested in following through on the theater
renovation that I've worked with for the past few years. My general knowledge of Five
Flags can be an asset in future capital projects and events.
CONTRIBUTIONS YOU CAN MAKE: Again, having been on the commission for awhile and now with the hiring of a new Center Manager
I'd like to work with the new person sharing the successes of the past blended with the new manager's vision.

~8) Participate with the Dubuque area chamber
of commerce, the hotel and restaurant in-
dustry and other interest groups to pro-
mote and develop the convention and
tourism business for the Dubuque area.
(9) Execution of contracts and agreements for
the use, operation and maintenance of the
civic center facility; contracts and agree-
ments for the use of the facility may be
signed by the city manager, except that all
contracts for usage of the facility involving
a term of longer than five (5) days shall be
subject to execution by the mayor with the
approval of the city council.

Co) Upon completion of their term of office, mem-
bers of the commission shall continue to serve in
their full capacity until a successor has been duly
appointed.
lc) Membership on the commission shall be lim-
ited to persons who are residents of the city.
rd) On and after July 18, 1983, the terms of
members of the commission shall be for three (3)
years. Terms of those members originally sched-
uled to expire June 29, 1984, shall be extended to
expire June 29, 1985, and terms of those members
originally scheduled to expire June 29, 1985, shall
be extended to expire June 29, 1986. Thereafter
all terms shall be for three (3) years.

Sec. 13-15. ProgrAms, projects and services,
conformity to legal and policy re-
strictions.
All programs, projects and services to be devel-
oped by the commission must conform to the pol-
m~es of the city and to applicable local, state and
federal laws, rules and regulations.

Sec. 13-18. Vacancies in membership.
A vacancy caused by death, resignation or otb-
erwise on the commission shall be promptly'filled
by the Dubuque City Council for the unexpired
term of office.

Sec. 13-16. Solicitation and acceptance of do-
nations and gi~s.
The commission may solicit and otherwise ac-
cept donations and gifts of money, personal prop-
erty and personal services. All such monies and
personal-property as received shall become the
property of the city for the general use for the
support of the civic center and its programs un-
less such items have been designated by the do-
nors for sPecific purposes.

Sec. 13-17. Membership, appointment.
(a) The commission shall be comprised of a
membership of five (5) persons, who shall be ap-
pointed by the Dubuque City Council for terms of
two (2) years. Two (2) of the initial appointments
shall be for a term of one year, three (3) of such
initial appointments shall be for a term of two (2)
years.
Sec. 13-19. Attendance at meetings, fre-
quency required; record of atten-
dance.
(a) Members of the commission shall attend at
least txvo-thirds (%) of all regularly scheduled and
held meetings within any twelve:month period. If
any member does not attend such prescribed
number of meetings, it shall constitute grounds'
for the commission to recommend to the Dubuque
City Council that said member be replaced.
Co) The attendance Of all commission members
shall be entered upon the minutes of all meetings
by the Secretary.

Sec. 13-20. Compensation.
All members of the commission shall serve
without compensation except for reimbursement
of necessary expenses.
